Why the same course has three prices
Online course pricing is set by marketing rather than by cost, which is why a course can be listed at three different figures in a month. The common patterns:

None of this is dishonest by itself. It does mean the price is not a signal of quality — so judge the course on what it includes, not on what it costs.
Charges that appear after enrolment
- Certification fee — where the certificate is priced separately from the course.
- Assessment or examination fee — particularly where an external body certifies.
- Re-attempt fee — worth asking about before the first attempt.
- Subscription renewal — where access is time-limited and you have not finished.
- Proctoring charges — where a supervised assessment is involved.
The last one catches people on subscription platforms: access expires, the course is unfinished, and continuing costs another cycle. Check the access period against how fast you can realistically work through it.
Getting a straight number before you pay
- Ask what the total is including certification and assessment.
- Ask how long access lasts, and what happens when it expires.
- Ask whether re-attempts cost anything.
- Read the refund policy before paying, not after.
A provider that answers all four plainly is being straightforward whatever the price. One that will not is telling you something useful.

Why do online course prices change so often?
