Are online courses worth it?
Comparing an online course to a campus programme on fees alone misses most of the picture. The largest cost of a full-time programme is not tuition — it is the salary you do not earn.
The arithmetic
Two years of a campus programme at ₹12 lakh, plus ₹12 lakh of forgone salary on a ₹6 lakh package, is roughly a ₹24 lakh commitment. An online course taken while you keep earning costs the fee alone — from ₹32,350 — and you finish two years further up the ladder rather than two years behind.
When campus still wins
If you are early in your career and changing industry, function or country entirely, and you are admitted somewhere with a placement record that clears that bar, the reset and the network are real. For someone already employed and progressing, the arithmetic points the other way.
What a course will not do
It will not place you, it will not substitute for a campus network, and it will not change your industry on its own. It removes an eligibility barrier and gives you frameworks. That is worth a lot at ₹32,350 and considerably less at ₹3 lakh.
